The "Run for Family Health" campaign is an initiative launched by the Academy of Family Physicians of India (AFPI) in 2015. Launch and Vision

The campaign was officially launched by legendary athlete Mr. Milkha Singh, also known as "The Flying Sikh," during the Family Medicine and Primary Care Conference (FMPC) 2015. Mr. Singh, an iconic figure in Indian sports, emphasised the importance of fitness and an active lifestyle, motivating families to come together and engage in physical activities for better health. The "Run for Family Health" campaign, with its foundation laid by the iconic Mr. Milkha Singh, serves as an important movement towards promoting health and fitness in family units across India. By encouraging families to engage in physical activities together, the campaign not only aims to improve individual health but also strengthens community bonds, underscoring the philosophy that health is best pursued together. Run for Family Health 2024

The campaign was flagged off by Mr. Madan Lal, a legendary cricketer from the 1983 Cricket World Cup-winning team, during the Family Medicine and Primary Care Conference (FMPC) 2024, held at AIIMS Rishikesh. Mr. Lal's involvement highlights the significance of sports and physical fitness in promoting health, particularly in family settings. The "Run for Family Health" campaign, inaugurated by Mr. Madan Lal at FMPC 2024, serves as a crucial initiative promoting health and fitness among families across India. By bringing families together for physical activities and educating them on healthful living, the campaign aims to enhance the well-being of not just individuals but entire communities, establishing a healthier future for generations to come.
