President

Dr Raman Kumar


Dr Kumar qualified MBBS from Patliputra Medical College, Dhanbad, Jharkhand India. He completed three year residency training in Family Medicine in 2005 and was awarded DNB family medicine in the same year. He has worked as senior resident at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, New Delhi for three years. He has fellowship in "Occupational and Industrial Health" from Maulana Azad Medical College New Delhi. He has been actively involved in development of academic Family Medicine in India for long. He was elected Fellow of Indian Medical Association - College of General Practitioners (IMA CGP) by examination. He actively worked for popularization of FCGP program among young physicians. He has authored the introductory chapter of the book “ Family Medicine” published by IMA CGP.  At present he is associated with Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, New Delhi as CMO. His main areas of interest are acute care, palliative care, occupational health & migrant health research. He has been actively campaigning for education and rights of the primary care physicians in India. He is also Life Member of Indian Medical Association.

 

 


Vice President

Dr Rakesh Prasad Shahi  


Dr Shahi is a senior and respected general practitioner of Delhi. He started his practice early along with attachments with various community hospitals. He is fellow of IMA CGP and has participated in CME activities of Indian Medical Association with great enthusiasm. He went on to complete full time residency in family medicine. His main area of interest are management of chronic illnesses. He is also actively involved with provision of community based care for adolescents.   

 


General Secretary

Dr Vandana Aggarwal   


Dr Aggarwal is practicing emergency and critical care physician. She earned her DNB Family Medicine qualification from Sundar lal Jain Hospital, New Delhi. She has long experience in handling busy emergencies and critically ill patients. She is very passionate about development of community based care for terminally ill patients in India. At present she is attached to Max Groups of health institutions.

 


Treasurer

Dr Sudha Kumari


Dr Sudha is the champion of women’s health. She offers wide spectrum of clinican services in her practice. Her main focus is on provision of cost effective obstetrical care for poor women. She has long experience of organizing services in rural areas.  Apart from regular three year residency training in family medicine, she has also post graduate qualification in human physiology. She is also fellow of IMA CGP.  She has been involved with training of community health workers.

Dr Kamal Kishore Karnani


Dr Karnani was born and brought up in Bikaner, Rajasthan. He realized importance of medical services in remote areas. The challenges of family medicine suited his clinical instincts. He trained at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital as family medicine resident. His arear of interest are telemedicine and provision of clinical services in rural and remote areas.  He is actively involved with the membership program of AFPI since inception.

Dr Navneet Singh Gill 


For Dr Gill, family medicine was first chioce for specialization, given his exposure to rural areas during graduate training. He started his community practice and later decided to join Punjab Health Services. He comleted his family medicine residency from Mata Chanan Devi Hospital. His present assignment involves maintainance of health of worker community. He is very enthusiastic about development of family medicine in India.

Dr Tanuja Gupta


Dr Gupta has long experience community based clinical services. She has also been associated with industries as an occupational health physician. She is residency trained family physician and presently involved with development of CME programs for primary care physicians. She is also attached to BL Kapoor Group of Health Institutions.

Dr Raghavendra MS


Dr. Raghavendra is the Head, Department of Preventive Health Care and also DNB (Family Medicine) Coordinator at Sagar Group of Hospitals.Banglore He is recipent of several awards and scholarships. He has also authorered books for medical students  (1) Question Bank and Reference guide for MBBS I to Final year (2) Case Presentation for Paediatric (3) First Aid to Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He has Post Graduate Diploma in Diabetology .He is trained in Obesity Management and also a member of Indian Thyroid Society.
